Privacy Policy

NameWheelPick is built so that your list never has to leave your device for the public name picker.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what NameWheelPick does — and does not — do with information when you use the website and the random name picker. The product is designed to keep name lists on your device.

What happens to your list

  • No account is required to use the public picker.
  • Lists, session settings, history on this device, theme preference, and sound preference are stored in your browser’s local storage (and similar browser storage) on this device. They are not uploaded to our servers as part of the public picker workflow.
  • List contents never appear in the page address, so links you share cannot leak your entries through the URL.
  • Your list is never sold, and is not used for advertising profiles.

Information we may receive from hosting

Like most websites, our hosting or CDN provider may automatically receive standard technical data when you load pages — for example IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — in server logs used to operate and secure the site. That infrastructure logging is separate from your name list, which stays in the browser for the public picker.

Cookies and similar technologies

See the Cookies page for how we use browser storage. We do not use the public picker to run third-party advertising cookies against your name list.

Clearing your data

Use Clear in the list editor to remove a list, or clear site data for this site in your browser settings to remove everything NameWheelPick has stored on that device.

Shared and public devices

Because lists are stored per browser profile, a list you create on one device will not appear on another, and anyone who uses the same browser profile can see it. On a shared or public computer, clear your list when you are finished.

Children

The tool may be used by teachers and facilitators with student names. Those names are entered and stored locally by the person operating the browser. If you are a school or organization, follow your own student data policies when projecting or filming a draw.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
